Hocking Hills State Park

                                 January 31 - February 3, 2003
This trip was for my 30th birthday.  We went with my sister, her fiance' and my friend, Wendy.  We have been to this park in the summer, but this was the first time in the winter.  It was really cold, but very beautiful.  Everything was frozen and ice covered.  All the streams and waterfalls were frozen, which made it quite interesting to walk on the trails!!

We rented one of the cabins that are located near the lodge in the park.  It had everything in it and was very nice.  We definately hope to go back and stay, hopefully in the fall.  They also have a campground, which from what I hear, fills up quickly in the summer.  This is a very popular park in the warm months.  There were very few people there on our trip, which made it even better.

This was our cabin, they all have a side porch as well as a screened back porch with a picnic table and grill.  They also have fireplaces and all the amenities.
These were just some of the amazing views we saw on the many trails in Hocking Hills.  There are several different areas, such as Ash Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Conkle's Hollow, Cedar Falls and the main attraction, Old Man's Cave.

Click here for a map of the park.
On the right, you can see just how huge this
block of ice is!!
This is me trying to climb the ice....  I didn't get very far.
